Fault F11 is shown on the display of the steam oven/combination steam oven. Water cannot drain from the steam generator.

Only valid for models DGC 6500 to DGC 6800 and DGC 7XXX: the “Automatic rinse” function should be activated as a general rule. This function can be found in the “Settings” menu. This ensures that minerals and salts that are dissolved in the residual water are rinsed out of the steam generator before they dry on.
Valid for all appliances in the 6000 and 7000 series: the water hardness should be set to the maximum level. This allows deposits to be removed early on and reduces the probability of fault message F11 occurring.
For homes with highly mineralised water: to put an appliance displaying fault message F11 back into operation, use a commercially available liquid descaling agent that contains 30 % pure food-grade citric acid.
To descale the appliance, proceed as follows:
Switch the appliance off and back on.
Then restart the descaling process.
Follow the instructions on the display.
When the prompt to place the descaling tablets in the water container appears, fill the water container with approx. 100 ml of liquid descaling agent instead of the tablets. Top it up with warm fresh water.
Follow the rest of the display prompts until the descaling process is complete.
If the F11 fault message appears during or immediately after the descaling process, perform another descaling process without descaling agent (i.e. using fresh water only). This will remove any soluble deposits or descaling agent residue from the fill level electrode. We do not recommend performing descaling with the descaling agent again or using a higher concentration.
