Dishwasher smells bad

The dishwasher smells bad and there are deposits and small particles of dirt on the load items.

If food residue or dirty crockery is stored in the dishwasher for prolonged periods of time, bad odours can develop.

Do not store dirty crockery in the dishwasher for prolonged periods.

Run a wash cycle/quick rinse cycle every few days, even if the dishwasher is not full.

This will stop the crockery from smelling bad.

The frequent use of low-temperature wash programmes (< 50 °C) increases the risk of contamination and odours inside the wash cabinet.

Run the “Intensive 75 °C” programme (if available) or the “maintenance wash” programme (if available) once per month to clean the wash cabinet and prevent odours from developing.

After using the dishwasher, leave the door and the detergent dispenser open slightly to allow the wash cabinet to dry.

Build-up of odours from dishwashers that have been in operation for a long period of time.

Clean the door seals with a damp cloth (use a small amount of dishwasher conditioner if necessary).

Clean the filter.

Check that the inlet hose and the drain hose have been installed correctly.
