Crockery flecked or not dry

The crockery is not dry or cutlery and glasses are flecked.

The rinse aid quantity is set too low or the rinse aid container is empty.

Add rinse aid or increase the dispensing quantity. Consult the operating instructions for information about setting the dispensing quantity. Please note that adding too much rinse aid can result in soapy residue on crockery.

The dishwasher was not loaded or unloaded properly.

Please load crockery so that lighter items are in the upper basket, cups are on the slanted shelf and there is sufficient space between items of crockery to ensure that water can drain off freely.

Check that the spray arms can move freely and that the nozzles are not clogged. Consult the operating instructions for more information about how to load the dishwasher properly.

Leave the appliance door (on appliances without automatic door opening) closed for at least 15 minutes. This will allow the residual moisture to evaporate uniformly.

Unload the lower basket first, then the upper basket and finally the cutlery tray (if there is one) to prevent water from the upper basket from dripping onto crockery in the lower basket.

Plastic has low heat-retention properties and dries more slowly than other load items.

For best drying results, Miele recommends the use of Miele rinse aid.

The detergent used does not meet requirements.

Experiment with using a separate powder detergent, dishwasher salt and rinse aid for one programme cycle followed by a further cycle with a multi-function detergent tab. Note the drying results and use the dispensing method which produces the best results.

On G 1000–G 2000 series dishwashers, it is necessary to select the 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 button as appropriate. This has an impact on drying results.

From the G 5000 series onwards, appliances automatically detect if a multi-function detergent tab or a separate powder detergent is being used.

The water in the cabinet is too hard.

Use dishwasher salt, irrespective of the hardness of the water supply, and select the appropriate hardness setting. Consult the operating instructions for more detailed information about water hardness settings.

The selected programme does not include a drying cycle.

Ensure that a programme including a drying cycle is selected. In the event of unsatisfactory drying results, experiment with alternative programme cycles. Consult the operating instructions for further information on this.

For thorough and gentle cleaning of glasses, crockery and cutlery, we recommend Miele products which also care for your dishwasher at the same time.
