The brew unit is unable to move into its start position.

To move the brew unit back into its start position, proceed as follows:
Confirm the fault message with OK.
Switch the coffee machine off with the On/Off control or .
Switch off at the wall socket and unplug the coffee machine. Plug it back in after 2 minutes.
Remove the brew unit and rinse under running water.
Push the coffee ejector of the brew unit into the start position.
Do not insert the brew unit into the coffee machine.
Close the appliance door.
Switch the coffee machine on with the On/Off control or .
This will initialise the brew unit drive and put it back into the start position.
The message Insert brew unit is displayed.
Open the appliance door.
Now reinsert the brew unit into the coffee machine.
Close the appliance door.
If the message appears again, reduce the quantity of coffee and/or select a finer degree of grinding. Some types of coffee have a much higher grinding volume.

CM 5000/5100/5200:FAULT – 73
The drip tray was removed while the brew unit was still moving into the start position.
To move the brew unit back into its start position, proceed as follows:
Empty the drip tray and reinsert it.
Switch the coffee machine off with the On/Off control.
Press the buttons for Espresso and Coffee at the same time. Release the buttons again.
Press the OK button twice.
This will initialise the brew unit drive and put it back into the start position.
