Fault F73 or FAULT – 73 (built-in appliance)

Fault F73 or FAULT – 73 appears on the coffee machine display (built-in appliance).

The brew unit cannot move to the start position or it is soiled and the ground coffee cannot be pressed.

Coffee machine with grinder:

Check whether you can remove the brew unit.

If you can remove the brew unit, proceed as follows:

  • Confirm the fault message with OK.

  • Clean the brew unit under running water without using cleaning agents.

  • CVA 2xxx to CVA 6xxx:

  • Pushing into start position | Coffee ejector | Built-in coffee machine
  • CVA 7xxx:

  • Pushing into start position | Coffee ejector | CVA 7xxx built-in coffee machine
  • Push the coffee ejector of the brew unit into the start position.

  • Insert the grounds container and the water container only.

  • Do not insert the brew unit.

  • Close the appliance door.

  • Switch the coffee machine on with the On/Off  control.

This will initialise the brew unit drive and put it back into the start position.

The message Insert brew unit is displayed.

  • Open the appliance door.

  • Now reinsert the brew unit into the coffee machine.

  • Close the appliance door.

If you cannot remove the brew unit, proceed as follows:

  • Confirm the fault message with OK.

  • Switch the coffee machine off with the On/Off  control.

  • Wait approx. 2 minutes.

  • Switch the coffee machine on again.

If the fault persists, please contact us or book a repair appointment online.

The coffee capsule has not been pushed onto the capsule plate correctly and may be damaged.

Coffee machines with coffee capsules:

Confirm the fault message with OK.

Open the appliance door.

Remove the grounds container.

Empty the grounds container.

Remove the capsule carousel and the carousel runners.

Reinsert the grounds container.

Opening | Next to capsule plate | Built-in coffee machine

There is an opening to the right of the insert for the capsule plate. Check whether there is a coffee capsule jammed inside.

If there is a coffee capsule on the capsule plate, proceed as follows:

  • Use a wooden spoon handle or similar to push the coffee capsule backwards into the grounds container.

  • Reinsert the carousel runners and the capsule carousel.

  • Close the appliance door.

If no coffee capsule is visible on the capsule plate, the coffee capsule has probably become jammed in the brew unit.

Risk of injury.

Do not reach into the brew unit!

Only use a wooden spoon handle or similar.

  • Remove the coffee capsule in the upper area of the brew unit using a wooden spoon handle or similar.

  • Reinsert the carousel runners and the capsule carousel.

  • Close the appliance door.
