Fault code 3.6.16 / Appliance fault

The Miele app displays the message Appliance fault and the fault code 3.6.16. The 4th position in the fault code may also contain the appliance fault number (x): 3.6.16.x

The Miele domestic appliance is reporting an internal fault.

Select Try again in the Miele app.

If the fault continues to occur, proceed as follows:

  • Cancel the connection process in the Miele app.

  • Reset the network settings on the Miele domestic appliance to the factory defaults:

    • Select the Miele@home or Networking menu on the Miele domestic appliance.

    • Select the Reset menu.

  • Disconnect the domestic appliance from the power supply.

  • Wait 15 minutes.

  • Add the Miele domestic appliance again in the Miele app.

The router settings are preventing the connection.

Check the settings for your router: the devices in the network must be allowed to communicate with each other. Some routers offer special settings for this, which must be activated or deactivated depending on the manufacturer.

  • Examples:

    • “WiFi devices may communicate with each other” option must be activated.

    • “AP isolation” or “Client isolation” must be deactivated.

  • With some router models, it may be useful to disable the 5 GHz WiFi when connecting the Miele domestic appliance.

The date on the Miele domestic appliance is not set correctly.

Set the correct date on the Miele domestic appliance.
