Preparation1. Defrost the pastry according to packet instructions. 2. Lightly flour your work surface and rolling pin. Roll out the sheets of pastry to the thickness of a €2 coin. 3. Cut the pastry into coaster size rounds. Using a smaller pastry cutter, lightly score a smaller circle inside the larger one. This rim will puff up and hold in the apples. 4. Place the puff pastry circles on a lined baking tray and prick with a fork. 5. Core and very thinly slice the apples. Arrange overlapping apples slices on each pastry circle. 6. Lightly brush with melted butter and sprinkle over a tiny bit of sugar. 7. Bake for 10 minutes until crisp and puffed up. 8. Slide under the salamander for a few minutes to help caramelise the apple. 9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
